🌈 Backyard Concert Update 🌈

South Minneapolis (All Ages!)

In light of today's heat, gusty winds, and wildfire smoke concerns, we are moving the Rainbow Room Backyard Concert to Tuesday, July 21! The forecast looks much cooler and clearer for Tuesday, and we want everyone to be comfortable and able to enjoy the evening. 

This concert is hosted by a wonderful group of South Minneapolis neighbors in their backyard, lovingly known as the Rainbow Room. No reservations needed—just show up, bring a chair, and join us for an optional snack potluck social hour before the show. Music starts at 7pm! This will be my only local concert this summer, and I can’t wait to gather with you!

Wildflowers Tour with Avery Hill

July 24 - Aug 2 (OR & WA)

I'm so excited to be heading back out on the road with my longtime friend and collaborator Avery Hill for another Oregon and Washington tour!

We'll be making stops in Junction City (7/24), Lowell (7/25), Eugene (7/26), Portland (7/28), Long Beach (7/29), Seattle (7/30 & 7/31), Quilcene (8/1), and Kingston (8/2). 

We've got lots of special songs and harmonies planned, and I'd love to see you if we're coming through your area! Many of these shows take place in cozy living rooms and backyards, making for a truly intimate evening of music. Be sure to reserve your spot or grab tickets soon! ❤️

"P Is for Placenta" now at Yale!

What?!?!? I’m absolutely tickled by this development! Back in August 2021, shortly after writing P Is for Placenta, my friend Amy heard Radiolab’s episode Everybody’s Got One and sent my song to the hosts and their special guest, Dr. Harvey Kliman of Yale’s Reproductive & Placental Research Unit. To my amazement, Dr. Kliman loved it and invited me to chat! That conversation was a gift. I learned so much more about the placenta and even tweaked a lyric! When I recorded the song, Dr. Kliman encouraged me to make a video for Yale’s website. And here it is! Live from my kitchen, with placenta-themed artwork by me and my daughter Adelaide. Dr. Kliman says I’m a Yalie now—I’ll take it! (And yes, Amy is that Amy—the paleomagnetist behind my song Amy!)
